Had a wonderful day Monday, my husband went shopping with me, wherever I wanted to go. we went to a couple thrift stores and a couple antique stores then he took me to lunch.  The thing is he hates shopping, so this    is true love at its best.  I think I spent maybe 10.00 in all four stores, but I had a fantastic time.  It is not about the money you spend, or the presents you are given, it is about the time you spend with each other making memories (and this one is a very special lifetime memory)  even after almost 30 yrs he never ceases to surprise and amaze me.

beautiful day

Today was a record breaker here, 66 degrees on the 5th of January go figure.
I tried two new recipes cola baked pork chops and a dutch apple pie.  My husband said the pie was ok but needs more cinnamon, so next time more cinnamon it is.  (my new motto is try till my husband says it is right for his taste, because after all he is who I  am supposed to make happy)lol.
This year I intend to look for my blessings and appreciate them, look for joy in the small things make memories to last a lifetime and love God like never before.

pantry orgainzation

Well I got the pantry organized today, will be shopping in the next few days.  Printed out some coupons for cake mix, icing. and some medicines to stock up on, since everyone around here seems to keep getting sick.
Now on to organizing my craft room, have lots of craft ideas I want to try, now just to get the ideas out of the thinking stage to the doing stage lol.  Will be doing some of the crafts with my daughter for her art class.  Maybe we will make a recipe booklet this year also for a home economics class grade.  Put the recipes that she tries that she likes compiled into book form for her hope chest.
Well I must get back to reorganizing....

Happy New Year

Today starts a New Year and along with it a more conservative way of life.  Today I called and had my satellite subscription turned off.  Will see if  we can do without it.  We have started buying movies and seasons of shows that we commonly watch in anticipation of this day.
I will be rearranging my pantry this week to see what needs to be restocked, (brown sugar powdered sugar, sugar, baking supplies etc.)  as I intend to do more from scratch cooking this year.
Our chickens have started laying again, but I need to get a few more chickens.  Would also like to hatch some chickens this year to raise.
I am now homeschooling my daughter so hope that goes well.  I have many plans for the coming year and I am hoping as I blog about the things I want to do, it will keep me motivated to do them.  It will also be awesome to see how things go in our lives in the coming year.

have a blessed and wonderful new year
